Introduction to PreMiereCocos® Coco Peat Blocks

Coco peat products supplied and distributed worldwide by PreMiereCocos® Products are guaranteed to be very high quality standard. They are manufactured to comply with the best quality and packing requirements of customers. PreMiereCocos® offers wide range of products specially made for customer's tastes.

Coco peat blocks are produced with 5 kg weight and suitable for users who need coco peat in bulk quantities. High compression ratio, as high as 4:1 makes the transport costs low and affordable. These can be used for any hydroponic or horticulture application after preparation for re use. Due to high compression ratio preliminary tools may be required for loosening. It is also suitable for applications in preparing potting mix, terrariums, lawns, erosion control, and many other industrial applications.

We can supply coco peat, coco fibers and coco chips in the form of compressed 5kg or 25kg blocks consisting of 100% coco peat, fibers or chips washed, buffered or unwashed. Even if you want a mixture made to order, you can choose to receive it in the form of a compressed block. All you have to do is wet the blocks, at which point they will swell up.

Standard coir mix consists of ¼", ½" or ¾" mesh processed coir materials. Standard block comes in a 4:1 compressed form and it is easy to handle and use. It can be used in indoor or outdoor growing mediums for Seedlings, Inoculums, Nurseries, Greenhouses, Lawns and landscaping, etc., or part of professional or retail potting soil mix.

Rose mix coir block is made from fresh materials blended in different ratios. Rose mix blocks need to wet and expand before any nutrients or fertilizers are added. Rose plants can be planted directly into the expanded coir fiber mix or premium potting mix including other soil less growing mediums.

Adding 50% by volume of Coco peat to most seedling mixes will improve water holding, aeration, and nutrition. Add Gypsum at about 2 grams to every 100 liters of Coco peat used. Do not use lime. Feed normally once seeds have germinated.

For every type of soil, environmentally friendly PreMiereCocos® is ideal as a soil conditioner. Since it is fibrous it will help to break up clay soils, giving friability and drainage. Broadcast and plough into sandy soil to improve texture. Sand gets bonded together with it, retaining moisture, oxygen and vital nutrients. Fork in a 50-75mm (2-3) layer of PreMiereCocos® into the top 250mm (20") of soil

Seed tray-fill with PreMiereCocos® level off, firm lightly, water well and allow draining. For very small seeds, sow on the surface. Do not cover with planting medium. Re-water sparingly, cover with black polythene or glass to retain moisture and keep out light. Maintain correct temperature .Once seeds germinate remove the cover and place tray in daylight, not direct sunlight.

When seedlings are large enough to handle, gently fork them out. Ground sowing – a 12mm (1\2") layer of PreMiereCocos® forked into the top 50mm(2'') or soil. Moisture is essential for the germination period.

Water the parent plant 24 hours before taking cuttings. Cut off young shoots with a sharp knife.

Fill pots/containers with PreMiereCocos® sand level off. Make holes, insert cuttings, firm medium gently and water well. Cover pots with clear, small-holed polythene bags to avoid moisture loss, Prevent leaves touching the polythene, when roots develop, remove the bag and water.

Tropical\Semi-tropical plants are suitable for air-layering, whereby new roots are formed on an aerial part of the plant. Some indoor plants too are suitable for regeneration. Select a suitable stem. Remove all leaves from the region to be cut. And cut 1-2cm wide in the bark- about 20-30cm from the tip and just below a node. A rooting hormone powder may be dusted on, to assist the formation of node. Apply PreMiereCocos® to a thickness of 50-75mm (2-3") around the removed area. Securely wrap with polythene to be airtight, within 14-18 days roots will materialize, ready to be cut and potted as new plants.

Fertilize at the 1st watering, Increased fertilizer rates may be necessary due to less frequent watering and excellent root growth, leading to improved plant vigor.

Fill the pot very loosely with PreMiereCocos® sand plant with the minimum firming and water well. Potting soil may be mixed with planting medium at 1:2 ratios and used as a soil conditioner.

Re-potting only during spring, summer and autumn, house plants are re-potted in spring. During winter, do not disturb any plant.

Water and let it drain. To remove the plant tap or squeeze the pot, turn it upside down carefully supporting the plant in one hand and sharply tap the pot to release the plant but do not disturb the root ball. Place a layer of PreMiereCocos® in the new pot and put the plant on it. Fill the pot with PreMiereCocos® firming tightly around the root ball and water well.

Ensure the surface is free of weeds. Spread 50-75(2-3") PreMiereCocos® which will enfeeble the growth of weeds and retain moisture in the soil. It will protect the roots from frost during the winter and scorching sun in summer. During winter, perennials can be protected from severe weather by a mulch of 25-50mm (1-2") work this into the surrounding soil in spring.

When preparing a new lawn, for 50-70mm (2-3") PreMiereCocos® together with a pre-seeding fertilizer incorporate in to the top 150-200mm (6-8") of the soil.

To ensure the spreading of the root system, dig a large enough hole. Mix an equal quantity of PreMiereCocos® with half of the removed soil. Apply a good all purpose fertilizer or bone meal on the inner surface of the hole and sprinkle approximately 25mm (1") of the soil- mix over it. Place the plant in position and if necessary, insert a treated stake making sure the plant roots do not get damaged. Back-fill with the soil mix and compress the soil firmly and water well.

Coir holds more water than any peat based medium. Save water and adjust watering accordingly. Protects against drying out in summer and the winter period.
